La Piazza Unità d'Italia should be one of the first places to visit in Trieste, with its neoclassical style making it one of the largest squares in Europe that overlooks the sea. Within the square are several interesting buildings, like the Government Palace and the Palace Stratti with its historic Caffè degli Specchi.
The Cathedral of San Giusto is another one of the many relevant things to do in Trieste. It's from the 14th century and has a Gothic rose window and adjacent tower. Next to it is the fortress-museum of Castillo de San Justo. The Victoria lighthouse is also very famous and is located in the Gretta hills.
