The best things to do in Aquileia

Aquileia is an Italian town in the province of Udine. It's an ancient Roman city on the Adriatic Sea close to the edge of the lagoons, just a few kilometers inland, on the river Natiso. One of the main places to visit in Aquileia is the Basilica. The first part was built in the year 313. Another one of the most interesting tourist attractions in
Aquileia,
along with the Cathedral, is the Roman
Forum. The most visible part is formed by the colonnade, and is partially reconstructed with beautiful Corinthian columns. It's one of the things to see in
Aquileia that you shouldn't miss. The remains of Roman times and other historic
Aquileia attractions
are
very numerous. Visiting Porto Fluviale or the Roman Sepolcreto are other important things to do in Aquileia. Something that should be at the top of your list of what to do in Aquileia today is to visit Capitol Square, the starting point of any visit to the famous Roman city. In the Archaeological Museum the number of preserved relics are numerous: from the head of the ancient statue of Augustus, to the first floor rooms dedicated to ceramics, metals and semiprecious stones. La Loba Capitolina is a bronze sculpture of a she-wolf suckling twin babies, inspired by the legend of the founding of Rome. Visiting this statue one of the most valued
Aquileia activities
by tourists. There's lots of stuff to do in Aquileia and the
surrounding area, come and enjoy this wonderful Italian town!
