Zinacantan

An excerpt from my blog illustrates our trip too the Ruta Maya Zinacantán quite well: "At noon we continued by jeep to Zinacantán SanJuan, a neighboring town of Chamula, with a population of about 15000. Here the children do not bother you as almost all are in school and also when they are not are forbidden to disturb travelers as they do in San Juan Chamula.'re far more educated and Pepe told us that they were also more neat than their neighbors. The truth is that women who are stressed saw while touring the brightness of your precious mane braided and their costumes looked very clean which was not the case in San Juan.

A curious thing is the distinction made in the way married men dress singles. Men wear robes very striking red and pink, round straw hats with a ribbon. tapes unmarried men is longer and wider than that of the married. visited his two churches in which was totally forbidden to take pictures, the truth is that there was not much to portray as they were very empty and had not a hundredth part of the charm and exoticism of San Juan. then headed to a friends house Pepe to see inside their houses and watch them at work in their crafts and manufacture of its fabrics. were resting in this beautiful valley in which lies Zinacantán through the mountains that surround it and sitting in a lonely place from which to appreciate these views. was time to end this interesting visit so rode the jeep and started down the narrow road to San Cristobal.
