Live Like a Local in Rome
Staying in the Trastevere neighborhood in Rome was completely ideal. This neighborhood is slightly off the beaten path and is less touristy than other spots. There are great restaurants and nightlife. We stayed at B&B Zen Trastevere where we rented one private room with a private bathroom attached. There was a shared common area with a small kitchen where breakfast was served daily. Breakfast was included in the stay, and it was a continental type breakfast with pastries, bread, fruit, and yogurt. There was an espresso machine that guests could use all the time that made really tasty coffee. Our room was clean and comfortable, and our towels were replaced as needed.
The bathroom looked newly renovated. We also enjoyed a balcony that overlooked a quiet part of the neighborhood onto other people's apartments. It was lovely eating our breakfast out there in the morning! We highly recommend staying at Zen Trastevere or their sister B&B, Zoe Trastevere.
