Distinguished visitors
In a small alley off Fleet Street, is the entrance of a pub, called in Castilian the Old Cheshire Cheese. Old refers to the age of the site dating from 1667 (last restored after the great fire of London), but in fact it's on record that a pub was here since 1538. Next to the entrance is a notice listing the 15 British monarchs that the pub has survived. The pub's interior is dark, labyrinthine corridors and steep stairs lead to rooms on different levels from the basement to upper floors. Don't worry if you feel disoriented, it happens even to those who frequent it often. The pub has received, and continues to receive, distinguished visitors (ambassadors, prime ministers and writers like Charles Dickens).
