A series of small villages
Usually when you think of the English countryside, you imagine the beautiful Cotswalds or some village in Somerset. Here, however, we are not far from Salisbury. The Woodfords are a series of small villages very close to the area of Old Sarum. Traveling this area of Wiltshire on foot or by bike is great because you can see the charming, traditional thatched houses with the roofs made of reeds. Following the River Avon, you'll find idyllic scenery and plenty of country pubs for refreshments.
