Stuttgart Wine Festival

Every year during the first week of September, this local wine fair takes place. The large area of vineyards in the region produce fruit that give excellent white wines, especially Riesling. You can also try the Trocken (dry wine), Halbtrocken (semi) and Süss (sweet). In addition to wine, there are a huge number of stalls serving typical southern German food. The décor imitates a medieval market. Cooks and waiters wear old suits. We tried the maultaschen with cheese and egg and the Spätzle with cabbage and sausage. It's worth visiting as it is so unique but is more expensive than in a restaurant.
