A salmon hatchery
Visiting Alaska in the summer and not seeing salmon would be a sin. The best place to see salmon up close, without having to catch them, is at the William Jack Hernandez farm. It lies on the banks of Ship Creek, and can stroll around the grounds of the farm to see how salmon are raised, in an environment as similar as possible to their natural habitat. This farm produces more than 6 million salmon every year.
