More Interesting Than I Expected
Unlike the neighboring Museum of the Confederacy, the White House is really meant for all ages. Touring the house is a fun example of what homes looked like in the mid-1800's and our guide was really great at sharing real stories from the family. You'll check out children's toys, servants' quarters, family photos, and lots of historic memorabilia and artifacts.
The house tour has less to do with fighting and battles and more to do with family life and culture during the Civil War. That makes it an interesting change of pace and a great visit.
The tour itself is pretty short - about 30 minutes - which makes the stand-alone admission very expensive.
