A fascinating experience
The Whiskie a go-go opened in 1964 and since then has been a benchmark of Rock and Roll in Los Angeles, and therefore in the world. Its stage has been a launching pad for generations of legendary musicians like Johnny Rivers, Frank Zappa, Love, the Doors, Buffalo Springfield, Guns and Roses and Motley Crue. Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, and more have played on this small stage.. Located on the legendary Sunset Boulevard, it's surrounded by other famous venues such as The Roxy, the Rainbow, the Coconut Teaser and others. The concert ticket is usually about twenty dollars and beer is about seven dollars.
At night it's better to go to a local parking lot in the surrounding area where the people in charge will signal you with neon headlights ($ 10) all night long, as you like). When I was there the last time LA Guns played and it was the anniversary of Jack Daniels so the heir of the Tennessee brand came and handed out pieces of cake to celebrate.
