    A part of history

This hotel, in La Carrera de San Jeronimo, is a part of history. When it opened its doors in 1912, it made history as the largest hotel in Europe, with 400 rooms ... few hotels in the world can boast of having had guests like Salvaor Dali, Federico Garica Lorca, and Luis Buñuel ... and all three at the same time! It's a great place to go and have a drink at the bar, eat in the winter garden or just admire its history. The atmosphere will transport you back in time ...

    Excellent
I stayed at this hotel with my partner recently, celebrating our second anniversary. And we loved it. We have been to many hotels in many categories all over the world, and some have liked it, others have loved it ... and this is one of my 4 favorite hotels. An experience in itself. The common areas are like entering another world, emphasizing its incredible double dome of multi-crystal crystals, which is already an icon per se. The 500-year-old tapestries hanging in the dome area are beautiful, and the English bar is a totally different environment to give the counterpoint to the main area. It is one of those that you can really look forward to the "Gran Hotel" in its name. All the details are taken care of to the maximum. The attention of the staff is amazing, from the details in the room to the service. There is an anecdote, which may seem exaggerated, but I swear it is true to 100%: The first day we arrived, at noon, we left our things, we saw the room, we rested a little (an hour and a half we would be in total) to take a walk We undoubtedly undid the bed when resting for a while. As I was leaving through the hotel hall, I realized that I had left the wallet in the room, so we went back up. It could not take more than 8 minutes, although we were going very calmly. Well, when we came back in, the room had been re-arranged, small details but visible: the blankets were well placed and no wrinkles again, and my clothes that I had left on the bed were well folded over one of the dressers. Hallucinatory. Leaving aside that, it goes without saying that our room was a wonder of space, decor, taste and style, with a small balcony and a huge bed that you could not leave in years. In fact we were interested in the bed itself, as it is a trademark of Westin. We returned to find them in 2 other hotels and since they are sold to individuals, this is our next home purchase. In fact the beds in hotels since then ranged from very poor to Westin hehe. The common areas are amazing. Just look at the photos, so little more I say. The service of the staff, worthy of a hotel of this category. One glance was enough to have someone asking if he could help with something. Breakfast is something to see. Never in all my travels in the world have I seen such a display, variety and quality of products and dedicated staff. It was almost impossible to finish a plate and put it away without someone removing it from the table instantly, while asking if you wanted more coffee or juice. The cook who prepared eggs to your taste (by the way, I saw him speaking in 4 languages fluently), impeccable. My scramble egg with Iberian ham, onion, tomato and cheese was spectacular. Anyway, I could go ad infinitum. Suffice it to say it is a very expensive hotel, but the price is justified and the service is worth it. Oh, and that without forgetting the fantastic Opera brunch they do on Sundays, where you can take the brunch with live opera ... In short, an experience that I recommend to anyone who can afford it even if it is as a whim once
