Wat Si Chum

El nº 100 de mis rincones sobre Tailandia y resulta ser para mi el mas bonito de todos los templos que he visto en todo el país. Lo cierto es que este templo por el agotamiento estuvimos a punto de no verlo y me hubiera arrepentido si no lo hubiera hecho. Lo primero que encuentras al entrar es una enorme esplanada de césped que rodea el templo por la que nos encaminamos hacia el. Lo primero que ves es una edificación denominada Mondop con muros de 3 metros de espesor. En la parte frontal y por una estrecha abertura que va desde el suelo hasta lo mas alto vas divisando una cara de un buda que ocupa toda la altura de la misma que es de unos 15 metros. El Mondop tiene 32 metros cuadrados y una vez dentro es cuando realmente llegas a comprender la magnitud de lo que estas viendo. Un enorme buda sentado de mas de 11 metros de altura llamado Phra Acana que significa "el que no tiene miedo" se alza sobre la estrecha construcción hacia lo mas alto encontrando allí la cabeza del buda sobre el cielo azul. Una imagen realmente impactante. Su mano derecha apoyada sobre su pierna se muestra dorada debido al pan de oro que los habitantes de este lugar ponen sobre ella para sus ofrendas. El "Templo del árbol Bhodi" que así se llama tiene en sus paredes incripciones concretamente en uno de los pasillos laterales que conducen a una escalinata hechos en pizarra que representan los cuentos de Yakarta. Sin duda es un templo no muy visitado por su lejanía ya que se encuentra a unos 1500 metros del Wat Mahathat y en un día de calor tailandés os aseguro que esta distancia aún en bicicleta se hace eterna "pero" no os lo podeis perder. El hecho de que esté tan lejano lo hacen un lugar estremadamente tranquilo donde cada uno pueda relajarse de la manera que mas le guste contemplando los días gloriosos de esta civilización.

The # 100 of my corners on Thailand and it be for me the most beautiful of all the temples I've seen around the country. Este templo es el más famoso del Parque Histórico de Sukhothai, y sin duda uno de los que más nos gustó de toda Tailandia. No está en el conjunto principal del parque, sino que para llegar hasta él requiere desplazarse por la carretera desde la salida de la puerta norte. En bici son menos de 10 minutos, y al llegar allí hay que pagar 100 baths por la entrada (que también te permite visitar el Wat Phra Phai Luang), pero sin duda merece la pena ir. Un lugar sencillo, en el que en una especie de cueva se observa una apertura y de repente aparece un enorme buda de más de 11 metros. Te sentirás realmente pequeño bajo el Buda Venerable conocido como Phra Acana y te transmitirá una sensación de paz y tranquilidad. Además, bajo sus pies se amontonan numerosas ofrendas y alrededor de la edificación hay también otras figuras de budas, aunque estas son mucho más pequeñas. Totalmente recomendado por su enormidad, la sensación que produce y además al estar un poco más alejado, suele haber muy poquita gente o incluso puedes pasear completamente disfrutando de las ruinas de la época gloriosa del Reino de Siam.

This temple is the most famous Sukhothai Historical Park, and certainly one of the most gust us throughout Thailand. It is not in the main assembly of the park, but l need to get moving on the road since leaving the north gate. Cycling are less than 10 minutes, and get all you have to pay 100 baht for entry (which also allows you to visit the Wat Phra Phai Luang), but definitely worth going. Questo Wat, che si trova nel complesso nord vicino al Wat Phra Phai Luang, e' sicuramente uno dei piu' affascinanti e fotografati di tutto l'hystorical park di Sukhothai. In fondo ad uno splendido giardino si trova un impressionante mondop che contiene un'enorme Buddha nella posizione del loto, che da lontano appare come un miraggio attraverso l'ingresso a fessura del tempio. Bellissima la gigantesca mano dorata che sfiora il terreno. A fianco del mondop principale si trova un tempio con un altro Buddha di dimensioni minori.

This Wat, located in the north complex near Wat Phra Phai Luang, and 'certainly one of the' most charming and photographed all the hystorical park of Sukhothai. Gran país que recomiendo visitar sin ninguna duda. A ser posible recorriendolo uno mismo para tener el mayor contacto posible con su gente, que al final es lo mejor que tiene este país. Nosotros iniciamos nuestro viaje en Bangkok, subimos a Ayutthaya, Sukhothai, Chiang Mai y Chiang Rai. En Sukhothai se encuentra el templo que os muestro en la foto, el mejor Buda que vi en el viaje, su mirada es impresionante... Totalmente recomendable

Great country undoubtedly recommend visiting. If possible crossing it self to have as much contact as possible with his people, which ultimately is the best thing about this country. We began our trip in Bangkok, we went to Ayutthaya, Sukhothai, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. In Sukhothai is the temple that I show in the picture, the best I saw Buddha on the trip, her look is awesome ... Totally recommended

Sin duda uno de los lugares más magicos en los que he estado es el parque histórico de Sukhotai. Unas ruinas de una civilizacion budista que fue devorada por la selva. Sin duda este lugar te hace viajar a otra época. Lo que mas nos impacto allí fue el majestuoso Wat Si Chum y su buda de 15 metros.

Undoubtedly one of the most magical places I have ever been is the Sukhothai Historical Park. Ruins of a Buddhist civilization that was devoured by the jungle. No doubt this place makes you travel to another time. What struck us most there was the majestic Wat Si Chum and Buddha 15 meters.

Son un conjunto de ruinas muy recomendables para pasear en bici.
