The mausoleum of Carol I park in the communist era known as the monument to the heroes for the freedom of the people and the earth mother. It is built in a place where there was once a palace of arts and then a military museum. The mausoleum was built in honor of the socialist revolutionaries. Opened in 1963. The base of the monument is circular and silver of black granite. Above are five covered arches of red granite. The ceiling is decorated with golden mosaics. Before the 1989 revolution, it was the place of the crypts of Communist leaders. The Communist government officials were also buried next. There was an eternal flame in memory of all those who had fought for the working class. In 1991, they removed the Communists and replaced by the bodies of soldiers from the First World War. In front there is an inscription to the unknown soldier. The place was renovated in 2005. It is beautiful at night when illuminated throughout the park.
