Walls of Lamego

The upper quarter of the city forms a citadel surrounded by a walled enclosure within which is the Castle and the tank. The walls are thirteenth century and form an irregular polygon, adapting to the slope and shape of the land. It had several gateways, today the Puerta del Sol (south) is preserved and the Gate of Villa (north).
