Walls and Doors

All the of Guarda's old defense system is classified as a National Monument [/ b], consisting of walls, gates and towers that are arranged around the town's centre in an irregular pentagon. It was built between the late 12th and early 13th century. Today, the best preserved areas include the Porta da Erva, the Porta del Rei, Porta Falsa, the Torre dos Ferreiros and Menagem Tower (Castelo).
