It is impossible to leave Manhattan without walking around Canal Street in Chinatown...especially if you're interested in shopping, but not in spending too much money! This is the place to buy imitations of the big brands that cost so much more downtown. Wallets, watches, scarves, pens, belts...you won't believe how similar some of these faux-products are to the real thing! As sales are illegal, vendors will frequently appear and disappear as if by magic if they hear a rumor that the police are coming. But it's a completely different experience, and you will certainly enjoy buying gifts for your friends and family, and of course for yourself!
