This is the ending point for a lovely day in Barcelona.
My route starts in the Sant Adrià marina in the Fòrum, passes by all the beaches in Barcelona, from Llevant to SantSebastià, and finishes up in this magnificent hotel, the end point for all would-be walkers and cyclists.

A real luxury for a unique hotel in Barcelona. The design in the shape of a sail is the work of the great architect Bofill (father).
Located in front of the beach, at the end of the famous seashore walk La Barceloneta in Nova Bocana (meaning new entrance) of the harbor of Barcelona, stands the new W Hotel. It was designed by Ricardo Bofill in the shape of a sailing boat. The facade is made of reflecting glass of silver color and is 105 meters high. It has 473 rooms including 67 suites, two WOW suites and the Extreme WOW suite with 360º panoramic view.
In February I was given a night in the famous W Hotel in Barcelona, better known as Hotel Vela, as a present. Despite the debate about the hotel around the "coast law", it is now one bigger tourist attraction in the harbor of Barcelona. I had never seen it before and I think this is the reason why I was very impressed.
As soon as one enters the room, the curtains open automatically and the views of Barcelona are really stunning. Next to the windows there is some kind of sofa where I took a nap. Unforgettable!
The room was not very big, but perfect, the decoration was functional and elegant with a very trendy touch. All the corners of the room have secret LED lighting and the mattress... it is as if it would wrap you up and would not let you leave anymore, incredible!
On the upper floors there is a cocktail bar with good cocktails and good views of course. Thanks to a discount, we paid 75€ one night for two persons.
