Vrondissi

Monasteries usually, if not always, have incredible locations. Vrondissi, for example, is the perfect spot for a picnic in the mountains of Ida. There are benches and tables available, and there is an especially beautiful old Venetian fountain with drinkable water. The Monastery has some beautiful sculptures of Adam and Eve which were unfortunately beheaded by the Turks: ah...the thing done in the name of faith! The church also has some rather interesting fifteenth century ruins, but the big selling point here is the idyllic location on the slopes of mountains.
