Overlooking Lake Como
Overlooking Lake Como, Villa Olmo park takes its name from a huge elm in the garden, planted by Pliny the Younger. Like other residences on the lake, the villa has undergone several changes over the centuries. The original part was designed by Simone Cantoni di Muggio in the late eighteenth century. Garibaldi, Napoleon and many other illustrious visitors stayed here. Today, it belongs to the Municipality of Como, and the large garden is used for municipal events.
