Vilcabamba

Vilcabamba is a beautiful city situated in the Andes, nestled in a fertile valley. It is located in the south of Ecuador, in the Loja province (about 50 km. away from the capital). It is easy to get there. There are many buses leaving daily to go to the capital (Loja) from this and other cities of the province. Vilcabamba is a playground, famous for the legendary longevity of its inhabitants. In recent years it has become a very touristy place especially for other Latin American people and people from the States seeking "authentic" places away from the hustle and bustle. There are many inns and restaurants.
