Vila do Conde Aqueduct
It's uncommon to find a modern aqueduct, they are usually associated with the Romans, but the Vila do Conde aqueduct began construction in 1626 and it took many years because the owners of the land on which arches were placed demanded large sums. Therefore the last opening, which reached the monastery, wasn't built until the eighteenth century. Today it's perfectly preserved and crosses the city for several kilometers, the best place to view it is near the Monastery of Santa Clara, for which it was built, to supply water to the monastery residents.
