Você sai do passeio de bondinho do Pão de Açúcar e dá de cara com a Praia Vermelha, no bairro da Urca, Rio de Janeiro. Quando o sol se põe, o reflexo de sua luz faz tornar a areia avermelhada, daí o motivo do seu nome. Além do bondinho, no entorno também estão a Escola de Guerra Naval, do Comando e Estado-Maior do Exército, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro e Instituto Militar de Engenharia. Em sua extremidade, tem o Círculo Militar da Praia Vermelha, onde possui o Terra Brasilis, restaurante bem frequentado por turistas porque tem uma vasta programação de shows e uma vista espetacular. Por tanto espaços militares existente por lá, a praia se torna bastante segura.

En mi opinión la más linda de Río de Janeiro. Es una playa chica, sin grandes cantidades de gente, con un agua muy cristalina, donde se puede disfrutar de un choclo y una caipirinha con total tranquilidad. El agua es muy pacífica, sin grandes olas, lo cual la hace perfecta para niños. Realmente muy hermosa.
