Good price and free parking
Velamar Hotel is located in the small village of Olhos d'Agua, near Albufeira, on the Portuguese Algarve. A small 3-star hotel. Fundamentally we chose it for the price (about 80 € for a triple room with breakfast) and because it had free parking. The room was spacious with a double bed and one extra little one. The worst thing was that it smelled a little musty. The furniture was old and next to the desk there was no plug, which made it impossible to use the laptop (its old and doesn't last without being plugged in). The TV was small and CRT. The bathroom was quite nice, with a screen in the tub.
As for the breakfast buffet, it wasn't bad. There were several different pastries, quite tasty, cheese and some meats, fruit, toast, jam and butter, yoghurt and hot drinks. The best thing was the dining room with a panoramic terrace with great views. The hotel is in a residential area with several restaurants on the street. The beach is about 2 kms away.
