Unforgettable
The Skaftafell National Park ('https://www.vatnajokulsthjodgardur.is/') is the largest in Iceland and Europe. The park, equivalent to over 12% of the country, is Iceland's most important conservation project. The main entrance is in Skaftafell, along the Vatnajökull glacier. You have to deviate about five kilometres from the Ring Road to reach the visitor centre with a small cafe, a park with picnic tables and a camping area. The Vatnajökull glacier is the largest in Iceland and one of the largest in Europe.
