Vang Vieng Main Street

Vang Vieng is a tourist town in northern Laos. Here, you'll find an interesting small central street flanked with simple bars and guesthouses. The main attraction of the village is the Nam Song River. It is a 4 hour bus ride from the capital Vientiane. This village is well known among backpackers for its bars that sell smoothies and pizzas that are referred to as "happy" smoothies or pizzas. In this case, the secret ingredient of happiness is marijuana. It is not unusual to find tourists lying on cushions and couches of these places to eat, with some watching television series for marathon days, just like at home but in an incredibly exotic environment.
