Vallivana Sanctuary

Located a few kilometers from Morella, this is a place that seems frozen in time. Taking a detour on the road that takes you to Morella from Valencia, there are a few houses, and what’s left of the convent and the adjacent church, dedicated to the patron saint of Morella. On the left side of the door of the church there is an authentic bar, it looks like if it was taken from a movie forty years ago, with tall roofs, stone tables, a chimney, wooden and crystal doors.

In 1672, Morella suffered the devastations of a great epidemic, and since that year, they celebrate the Sexennial Feasts, in commemoration of the decision taken in 1673 to celebrate a novena every six years, to thank the Virgin of Vallivana for interceding.
