Valley of the Fallen

Le terme "Vallée des morts" pourrait paraître effrayant. Il n'en est rien, il s'agit d'un des plus beaux canyons de Crète. Les morts dont il est question font référence à des tombeaux antiques car à Kato Zakros se trouvait un palais minoen. On peut faire une randonnée pédestre dans le lit de la rivière, ou une simple balade motorisée par la piste qui longe la gorge en partie supérieure. L'arrivée en bord de mer est aussi spectaculaire que la profondeur du canyon en partie initiale. Le plus beau lieu, selon moi, de Crète orientale.

The term "Valley of the Fallen" might sound scary. There is nothing, it is one of the most beautiful canyons of Crete. The deaths referred to refer to ancient tombs as in Kato Zakros was a Minoan palace. We can go hiking in the river bed, or a simple stroll through the motorized trail along the gorge at the top. Arriving by sea is as spectacular as the depth of the canyon initial part. The best place, in my opinion, eastern Crete.
