Valchiavenna Museum
The museum houses sacred ornaments, vessels, oils on canvas, wooden statues and silver objects such as crucifixes, chalices and hanging lamps. The cover of the Gospels is precious and unique, also known as the Peace of Chiavenna, and has been attributed to the twelfth century. It is composed of sheets of hammered gold and adorned with rose filigree, precious stones, pearls and enamels. Also on display are important examples of donations to the churches by migrants.
