3 reviews of Valcamonica

A long valley

Valcamonica is one of the main valleys in the province of Brescia, in Lombardy. It runs for 80km, starting at the Tonale Pass, and continues to the Iseo Lake on the border with Bergamo. Valcamonica is divided into low, medium and high areas, and is surrounded by the natural park of Adamello and the Stelvio National Park. Famous for its carvings and paintings, it was the first place in Italy to be named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and has a lot to offer the traveler. It can be reached by train, and can be covered by bike, along the path that runs beside the River Oglio.
