The main square in the short summer months
THis is main square of the Finnish city of Vaasa, known as "Market Square", even though in recently it is known as the "Main Square" to dry. It is in the heart of town, and is a wide rectangular square, with some "touch soviet" , as occurs with many other monuments and structures in Finland. Its amplitude and terraces that take the bars at the ends of the square during the short summer, make it one of the most common meeting points of the inhabitants. It is a focal point that will not be complete without the culture, since at one end of the square stands the "Statue of Liberty", a statue showing 2 "white soldiers", one of them waving victorious after victory during the Finnish Civil War.
They were named all those white soldiers who fought and protected Vaasa, which was known as "The White City", hence the eponymous name of soldiers. Surrounding the square are many high building blocks, which are divided between offices and shopping malls, giving it that touch of Soviet space. Yes, Finland escapes for years that Soviet bolt proof is the lively terraces abound in this unique place, a meeting place for different generations of the city, from young to old. Highly recommended drink a cold beer sitting on a terrace in the square (prepare ye the wallet ...), if possible, in one that have "live music", as many musicians play in front of them to make still stay livelier, you see, a pleasure in a Central European receding leaps and bounds from its past.
