A lake where you'll find hundreds of butterflies
536 meters above sea level is Lake Turano - a large hydroelectric basin on the namesake river with a dam built in 1939 near the center of Posticciola. It's connected with Lago del Salto via a tunnel and feeds the Cotilia hydroelectric plant. Halfway along are the 2 towns of Colle di Tora and Castel di Tora, whose names recalls the ancient Sabin -Roman city of Thiora. The first on a peninsula and the other on a rocky peak.
