3 reviews of Troyan Monastery

3rd Most Important Monastery in the Country

From the road between Sofia and Veliko Tarnovo we only have to go an extra 20 km away from Lobech (because we have to get out of the four E772 when this place is signposted.) The monastery could only be seen from outside because the inside of the church is closed at 16 h, but you can enter the site and see many paintings in the arcades and facade of the church.

A 160 Km.
160 km. From Sofia, first taking the direction of Veliko Tarnovo, and turning aside about 100 km. Towards Trojan we have one of the places that have captivated me for this trip. It"s a monastery not as well known as the Rila, but with a special charm, both for its location and its construction and its frescoes. There peace and harmony as without the crowds of other sights. Nestled in an idyllic setting at the foot of the mountain pass, near a river and surrounded by greenery is a place worth visiting.

Excellent
