Made of travertine marble
The Tritone Fountain (Rome) is near the Trevi Fountain and was made by the great Italian Baroque master, Gianlorenzo Bernini. It's in the center of Piazza Barberini, almost in front of Palazzo Barberini. The beautiful fountain is made of travertine marble and in it the sea god Triton appears throwing a jet of water through a shell while sitting on a huge conch, sustained by 4 dolphins. It's worth stopping for a while before continuing to walk and delve into the Via Veneto that's a few meters away.
