Transport in Petra
To get to Petra you are not short of offers to take you, either by donkey, horse, camel, and even some rickety vehicle pulled by a mule. The road is not long as hard, but it is logical for some tourists to climb on an animal to avoid getting their shirt sweaty. On the way the smell and rubbish indicate that there many things that can bite. Honestly, it's worth exploring these places on foot. You walk down an alley at your leisure sometimes quite narrow, which takes you to the ancient city, and at the least expected moment you can meet face to face with one of these rickety vehicles. All their wheels are rubber so you never know if what is coming in front is a horse or a cart, and it usually happens pretty fast, no doubt they are thinking of their next customer.
