Three doors of the Guillotine
The Torre dos Ferreiros is one of the most important strongholds of the walled town of Guarda. It was built in the 13th century and consists of a tower without battlements that protected a set of three doors, which were closed during an attack to make the fortress impregnable. There is a small altar at the centre door with the image of Senhor dos Aflitos. Closed by an iron gate, which you can see through the cracks in the stone. All the stones that make up the building have their respective stonemason marks. All of Guarda's defense system is classified as a National Monument.
