Torre dell’Angelo

La Torre dell’Angelo è uno degli elementi che caratterizza la centrale piazza Cavour, dalla quale è visibile sul lato verso via Gioberti. La sagoma di questa antica torre medievale risalente al XIV secolo è inconfondibile e, nonostante lo stato di conservazione non sia ottimale (fra l’altro, la parte sommitale, realizzata nel 1875, è considerata pericolante, pertanto l’accesso alla torre non è più possibile), riesce ancora a inquietare. La riprova è la leggenda che la riguarda, secondo la quale chi di notte riesce a intravedere delle fiamme blu in cima alla torre, è destinato a morire entro pochi giorni. Le fiamme, sempre secondo la leggenda, altro non sarebbero che la manifestazione dell’angelo della morte, dal quale la torre si dice prenda il nome.
