Postcard beaches
Tioman's beaches on the large island off the south east coast of Malaysia, are postcard beaches, with also a lively village and not just a tourist invasion. When you arrive you don't really know where you are, only it is very beautiful and you will like. Malaysia is a multicultural country, with Chinese, malasianos, Indonesians, expatriates, they speak Chinese, Malay, English, Bahasa and many dialects. Tioman is the same, and from the beaches you can hear everything. It's guaranteed that you will be able to relax on the beaches. They are beautiful and tranquil, not like in Thailand or Indonesia, nobody asks you to buy a drink, a meal, if you want a massage or sweatshirt.
There is an issue with distance, but if you really want this coke, you get in half a minute. There are two beaches, that border the villages on the coast side of Malaysia, and wild beach on the other side of the island, which only has a small basic hotel with an electric generator and tropical forest surroundings. Everywhere there is perfectly clear water and sparkling white sand. People look happy, open and relaxed, the locals speak to you in good English. We felt welcomed, and it was very cheap, although "tourist price" is a little higher than for the locals.
