A worthwhile excursion.
Thunderbird Falls are a series of waterfalls that are located near the Eklutna Lake, which provides drinking water for the entire municipality of Anchorage. The short hike (3.2 miles for the round trip) is lovely and offers incredible views of the Alaskan wilderness. The waterfalls are visible from a dedicated viewpoint, and if you dare you can even climb down, although it requires a bit more skill than going up.
