Theater Mahon

Mahon Main Theatre (Teatro Principal de Mahon) was built in 1829 by the versatile Giovanni Palagi (architect, writer and singer). It is one of the oldest opera houses in Spain. It is located on Calle Costa de Deia and its decoration is typical of eighteenth century Italian theaters. Its interior hosts Mahon Opera Week, notable for the number of visitors every year and having the genre's most important artists. It was renovated in 2001 but still retains its original charm.
