The Wooden bridge
This is a large pub in the north of Guildford, but still within the city. Its size is impressive, especially for where it is, which is not very busy. But it is obviously successful (if not, it would not open) and there are not many pubs and restaurants around. It is more spacious than a typical English pub. It is nicely decorated although perhaps not as crowded as we are accustomed to. It opens at 11am and the menu offered is broad and succulent. There are burgers, sandwiches, typical baked dishes ("pork pie" for example) and assorted desserts. The dishes cost about 6 pounds, but for lunch there is a deal of £8 for two meals (which individually cost 5-6 pounds).
