Las Nieves Natural Park

A bit further up Santa Cruz de la Palma, in the LP-101 Las Nieves-Velhoco (line 10 stop), we can take a pretty trail not recommended for people who suffer from vertigo, since there is a 700 meter slope.

The starting point is the sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves, on the back side there is a staircase that goes down to the road, and on the right side we go up to the Barranco de la Madera.

This part is very open and without shadow. After about 10 minutes we pass some climbing walls, the path continues with a few pine trees and half an hour later we enter the Las Nieves Natural Park.

We will pass next to a gallery and cross a channel. From here the path closes until it reaches a chestnut field. We will cross an impressive area, a ravine with vertiginous walls. We pass several tunnels (it is better to carry a flashlight) and incredible views of the ravine.

Then we go down again and when we see the transmission tower it will mean that we are close to the starting point, after passing next to a town with a great palm grove, the sanctuary of Las Nieves, which is worth visiting.
