The Walls of Khiva

The walls of Itchan-Kala, the old neighborhood oasis of Khiva, reach 12 meters high. It's incredible, because it seems a "sand castle" irregular gently sloping. In the evening, it is best to walk along the promenade that runs along much of the exterior. There you find friendly children, happily posing for a photograph ... the ritual killing of a lamb, or flow into the modern bazaar, with onion, watermelon, pepper, tomato stands, etc.., extending to the foot of the wall.
