The Waiheke Island
This island is the biggest of the islands of the Hauraki Gulf. It is 93 square miles long and is 35 minutes away from Auckland if you take a ferry. In the oceanic part of the island there are some of the most lovely sandy beaches in the zone. Another one of the attractions are the vineyards there. The island has 17 wineries that can be visited. The island is home to dozens of galleries and craft shops. It's a nice place to visit for a day.
