Food Market
This market is so named because it's located where the old station of Leon used to be, but in reality, it's still used as such, as a way for the rural communities, like Palo Lapa or Tololar, to communicate with the city. It's a food market where you can find bananas for tostón (fried banana slices) or mature (ripe banana, boiled and fried), sweet green peppers, pipián (a kind of zucchini-cucumber), and all kinds of seasonal fruit. It's also the only market where you can buy iron skillets used to make tortilla (corn meal, mixed with water, moulded into a disc-shaped toast, the typical bread eaten there) and it's a great gift for your family (and for yourself, of course).
