The Star

The Star is a pub in Guildford. It's just off the High Street. It's in a great old house, with slopes, low ceilings and it is very comfortable because they have furnished it well. There are high tables and leather armchairs and spaces for groups or couples. The music is rock, a little heavy but not too much. The interesting thing is that people from all walks of life in Guildford meet here. In general, Guildford is a very formal, posh city, whose locals work in The City. But there's also a range of students, artists, rockers who aren't often seen on the streets of the city. They serve food, but when we went on a Friday night, the food took ages to arrive.
