Celtic mountains
The central area north of the Isle of Arran, is mountainous, as if it were the Highlands. There are three main areas to visit: Rose Glen, Goat Fell and The Sleeping Warrior. The latter received it's name from Celtic tribes, for how it looks from various perspectives, but mainly and strangely from the air ... you know the Celts did not fly! The group of mountains that make this site resemble Figure of a male warrior asleep (remember that some women were good Celtic warriors). The views are spectacular, but over everything that surrounds this place I prefer the old legend, which says that the warrior is magically asleep, but woke in extreme cases to protect the island from storms, invasions and other problems of the time.
