Ponche Neighborhood
The Ponche neighborhood is the most typical of Saint-Tropez. It is a maze of narrow streets, alleys and inlets in which the buildings are concentrated look like roses and oranges. It was discovered in the late nineteenth century by Guy de Maupassant, and later by Paul Signac. The neighborhood soon became a meeting place for writers and artists of the twentieth century. Further away from from the bustle of the port, the area is known for its calm ambience and it feels like you are in a different time period. It is really nice to bathe in its coves with fine golden sand. I recommend that you bring goggles and a breathing tube to calmly observe schools of fish that populate blue and green turquoise waters.
From Canebiers Bay you can also take the road to the harbor and see the old buildings util you reach Graniers beach. This neighborhood will delight lovers of photography, with many corners where you get beautiful snapshots for the holiday album.
