Is the courthouse square in Aix, but is named after the palace because the palace of the Counts of Provence was once located here. The region just became part of France in the fifteenth century. Before that the counts ruled, they had their court and castle here (a defensive structure to protect from invasion).
If you try to follow the direction of the great central boulevard, the Cours Mirabeau, you'll pass by a Passage, an old street filled with precious shops. It is one of the few remaining in Aix, these covered areas that shelter from the sun and wind were once very popular. In the
