Well worth a visit

This is Islamic city (also called Medina) is one of a kind and is located in the capital of Algeria. It has one of the best locations on the Mediterranean coast. There are remains of the citadel, palaces and ancient Ottoman mosques. The structure and arrangement of the city is traditional - always adhering to the sense of community. It is built on a hill and goes down towards the sea, it is divided into two parts: the upper and lower town. The main buildings of the city are the mosques, such as: Ketchaoua - which has two minarets, Djedid - characterized by the great dome protruding from its structure and Kebir.

All are over 300 years old, so they are worth visiting. Something that characterizes this Kasbah are that the streets and houses seem to be like quaint mazes. Other places of interest in the town are the town hall, law courts, the theater and the governor's palace. Construction of these buildings began in the mid-nineteenth century, so they have both old and some slightly more current elements. The Kasbah of Algiers is a city well worth a visit, as the capital of this country you can find expressions of their culture and architecture, as well as many sites of interest.
