Authentic pub and cafe in Canterbury

Find a traditional pub in Canterbury which isn't a tourist trap often proves to be something of a challenge. Those on High Street are usually prohibitively expensive, especially when you take the low-quality food into account. However, the Jolly Sailor on quiet Palace Street is a lovely and authentic place to try if you're looking to escape the tourist trail a bit. We stopped by and had coffee and some exquisite cakes for only 1 pound. My favorite part was the nice little terrace with the charming wooden picnic tables.
